Beginning as a Sunday evening Bible Study in 2002 and then meeting for worship starting in 2004, Redeemer has always sought to cultivate worshipers of Jesus who love our city and who love the University. We seek to be a people who are endlessly curious about God and his world, joyfully celebratory of God’s goodness, and tirelessly creative in our pursuit of God’s mission. We are made up of families, singles, young and old who delight to rest with one another in weekly worship of God, to gather together throughout the week to remind one another of Jesus’ love, and to join with one another in service, reflecting the love of Jesus to our neighbors in Urban and University Knoxville.
Over the years, Redeemer has worshiped in homes, in the Metron Building, in the Candy Factory, and elsewhere around the city. Since 2005 we have worshiped on the corner of 17th and Highland, in the heart of Fort Sanders. We are thankful for our corner of the city, since it provides us an accessible and visible location to worship Jesus and to share his love with our neighbors. Beginning in the Spring of 2020, we have been prayerfully inviting those who believe in God’s mission on this corner to help us Cultivate the Corner for the next season of mission in Knoxville. You can read more about the campaign at the link above, and join us in whatever ways Jesus leads you to do so.
